After all the advertising and hype there is no way I could forget the iPhone was coming out today, though I did forget I'd made plans with Michael, I'm still impressed how many people lined up for one at Apple Stores.
When I walked by the downtown San Francisco store at 10:00 am, the line already stretched up the entire block and halfway up another. Even Woz was in line at an Apple Store.

I've never seen any of the film at the annual gay and lesbian film festival Frameline before. No one has ever invited me until now and you can't tell if its worth taking an afternoon off to see a film from when all you have is a paragraph long description.
This year though, Michael invited me to come along and with them and looking through the program guide I found a frame of reference for the first time. So last night we went to see The bubble from Yossi and Jagger director Eytan Fox.
Having seen Yossi and Jagger and reading the description of this as a modern Romeo and Juliet set in Tel Aviv I wasn't expecting a happy ending, but neither was I expecting something which would be haunting me today the way it did. There is probably a lot lost in translation about Israeli life and culture, but it was still hilarious at times and in the end left me in tears and left me in awe.
It was brilliant. Tomorrow it's Rick & Steve the Happiest Gay Couple in All the World, a film I picked because the picture was cute and I hope it will leave me with more joy than sorrow.

The line for Steve Job's World Wide Developers Conference Keynote was snaking it's way through Moscone West when I walked by the conference center just a few minutes ago.
That means it's time once again to play WWDC Keynote Bingo! Courtesy ARS Technica, John Siracusa puts together a bingo card of both the likely and unlikely things we might hear from Steve Jobs.
I wonder how his bingo card fairs against some of the Apple rumor sites out there? We don't have long to wait. (I don't count macrumors.com as one of "those" rumor sites by the way, they are more of a news site about rumors if that makes any sense)

I hadn't seen the iPhone commercials when I skimmed past Gruber's take on them, pointing out it's just a product demo showing off the interface.
I've had a chance to watch them now and I'm trying to remember another commercial selling me on the interface instead of how much fun it is to use or some cutting edge, must have, feature I'll never use.
Even Apple left the eleven-step wizard out of the "3 steps to the internet" iMac G3 commercial. Though at the time, that was a damned good wizard.

Tomorrow, about 2,300 cyclists will leave San Francisco at daybreak for a 7 day ride to Los Angeles. After riding AIDS/LifeCycle for the last two years, I'm taking this year off.
I still wanted to be involved and support the AIDS/LifeCycle and my friends who are riding and working as roadies, so I volunteered for Day 0. Today was orientation day, when all the forms and paperwork get taken care of.
Tomorrow my friends David, Marc and will be following along by car stopping along the way to cheer the riders on.

I'm riding 545 miles to raise money to fight AIDS, make a donation.
