...And Back to Standard Definition

I wasn't really watching it, but I had the television on in the background (I heard television described somewhere once as the modern equivalent of a hearth) until it up and turned itself off.
I tried to power it back on, but the remote wouldn't work. I walked over and pressed the button on the face of the box and got a couple lights to flicker on. The only buttons that would work were channel up and channel down and refused to budge when I tried to jump to the high definition channels in the 700s.
I gave up and called Comcast after quite a long wait I was told my box was dead and gone are all those programs from the last couple weeks I hadn't seen yet. They'll come out to replace it thursday, the new box will have (the latest and greatest acronym...) HDMI so at least there's something.
Thank you once again Comcast. I'm guessing "Comcastic" is a unreliable DVR with a crappy interface and stutters every time you press a button.
