Official California State...

Last week the governor vetoed a bill that would have made zinfandel the official state wine of California. It was a scam by the zinfandel makers to get some attention over other, more popular, California wines, but it got me to thinking that we have a lot of official state stuff.
After it came up in a conversation yesterday, I did a search to see what else was official. The tree (the redwood, tallest tree in the world), animal (the grizzly) all nickname ("the golden state") all make sense, but did you know we had an official state folk dance? Or an official state plaid?
The official California Historical Society is the California Historical Society, which seems a bit circular.
So what else should be an official state thing?

That might fall under the official state agricultural crop.

Congrats, Jamison, on the recent appointment by Newsom!
Re official state grass, I believe it's Nasella pulchra, AKA Purple Needle Grass. Yes, I know it's not smokeable, but it was one of the most common species of our distinctive California bunchgrass prairie community before the introduction by the Spanish of Mediterranean annual grasses (the ones that make our hills golden in summer) and cattle grazing.

I think we need an update on the official state grass.
