Unsettled (Two Days After Moving)

I've spent two nights at my new place now. Two nights of very bad sleep. This is going to take a little getting used to and a couple things to take care of before we really settle in.

Like any new place there are things to do and I suggested we divide and conquer, when I called Walter this afternoon to let him know I took care of PG&E and they would be coming out thursday to do a safety check on the gas heaters, we talked about how well we slept and it seems he got woken up by the same house sounds as I did.

I've never lived in a home with hardwood floors, and I didn't know how much a 100+ year old home with hardwood floors would echo and creek without rugs or runners.

I stopped by Create & Barrel on the way home tonight and while I didn't find any rugs that jumped out at me, I did find a set of sheets half off (score!) and got some ideas. Ok, that's not entirely true, there were some rugs that jumped out at me, but the one I liked for my room was $1,200, a bit too pricey.

Pricey, but looks very nice, hope you have good time in new house.

Thank you,

The stripes run in the same direction as the hardwood floor, I've got an idea and probably look for something similar but cheeper elsewhere.

I agree with the loud hardwood floors!!! Once everything is in though it will be totally different!

I love your new place!!

The beauty and silence will be yet to come.
